Properties: Colorless crystals, small needle-like or granular crystal powder, odorless, will weather in the air. The solution is acidic to litmus. The specific gravity is 1.957 (25/4ºC), the melting point is 100ºC and it loses 7H2O at 280ºC. It is soluble in water and glycerol, insoluble in alcohol, and has low toxicity.
Usage: Food supplements, animal feed, mordants, wood preservatives, analytical reagents.
Packaging: Lined with polyethylene plastic bag, outer plastic woven bag, 25Kg per bag.
Storage and transportation: It should be stored in a dry, ventilated and clean warehouse, handled with care, and protected from moisture and heat. It should be protected from rain and moisture during transportation, and should be isolated and stacked away from toxic substances.

Description:

Zinc sulfate is colorless or white rhombic crystal or powder at room temperature. It is astringent and soluble in water. The aqueous solution is acidic and slightly soluble in ethanol and glycerol. Pure zinc sulfate will not turn yellow in the air for a long time, and will become a white powder in dry air. There are many kinds of hydrates: zinc sulfate heptahydrate is a stable hydrate in the range of 0-39ºC, zinc sulfate hexahydrate at 39-60ºC and zinc sulfate monohydrate at 60-100ºC. When heated to 280°C, various hydrates completely lose their crystal water, decompose into zinc sulfate at 680°C, decompose further above 750°C, and finally decompose into zinc oxide and sulfur trioxide at about 930°C. ZnSO4·7H2O and MSO4·7H2O (M=Mg, Fe, Mn, Co, Ni) form mixed crystals in a certain range.

Use:

Zinc sulfate is mainly used as raw material to prepare zinc compounds such as pigment Lithopyrite powder and Lithopyrite powder. When animals are deficient in zinc, it is also used as a nutrient, animal husbandry feed additive, and zinc fertilizer for crops. An important raw material of man-made fibers, used for electrolytic production of metal zinc electrolyte, mordant in the textile industry, medical emetics, astringents, fungicides, wood and leather preservatives, etc.
