5. Properties: Colorless cubic crystals, white or off-white, available in granular, honeycomb block, spherical, irregular granular, and powder forms. Slightly toxic, odorless and slightly bitter. It is extremely hygroscopic and easily deliquesces when exposed to air. It is easily soluble in water and releases a lot of heat. Its aqueous solution is slightly acidic.
